Kwinana Water Reclamation Plant, WA

Kwinana water treatment plant

AWA Water Environment Merit Award 2005
Capacity 16.7 ML/day, upgradable to 26.7 ML/day

The Kwinana Water Reclamation Plant is one of Australia's largest treated wastewater recycling plants. It is a Design and Build project, officially opened in November 2004. VWS' technology was chosen to match water needs, and to provide high quality water from wastewater, with processes that had recently been used elsewhere in Australia.

This plant provides at least 5.5 m3/year of high quality water for use by large industrial customers in the Kwinana Industrial Area. KWRP was designed and constructed to continuously provide 16,700 m3/day of 50 mg/L Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) product water.

Technologies:

  • Submerged Microfiltration
  • Reverse Osmosis
