A highly efficient water and wastewater clarification process combining microsand enhanced flocculation and settling

Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies unique Actiflo® Clarification technology is a compact process that utilises microsand as a seed for floc formation. The microsand provides surface area that enhances flocculation and also acts as a ballast or weight.

The resulting microsand ballasted floc display unique settling characteristics, which allow for clarifier designs with high overflow rates and short retention times.

The Actiflo® process is ideally suited to the treatment of: industrial process water, wastewater, stormwater, ground water & surface water.

Actiflo® Turbo

The Actiflo® Turbo system features the Turbomix®to enhance the flocculation efficiency by introducing the following features:

  • High level of homogeneous mixing of the coagulated water with the microsand and polymer

Actiflo® Packaged Plant

A range of low cost, pre-tested packaged plants are available for small to medium-sized applications (1,000 to approx. 3,000 kL./day) for waste water, process water and drinking water applications.

Actiflo® packaged plants are a stable and flexible process, with a fast start up and can adapt to extreme conditions and variations in the feed water.

Actifloc™ Packaged Plant

The Actifloc™ pack combines clarification and filtration in one pre-fabricated, fully automatic unit. The plant delivers high-quality water and is specifically designed to treat any water source, particularly surface waters with a flow rate from 40 - 320 m3/hr.

Actifloc™ reacts quickly to changing raw water quality and is suited for waters with high color, high TOC, high turbidity or algae levels & cold waters. It can be used as a pre-treatment of industrial process water or for recycling or reuse

Bayswater Power Station, NSW
